Pay It Forward – Volunteer Needed

Pay It Forward
Part of what makes Uptown a great community is all the non-profits and service organizations that are in neighborhood. Uptown on the Hill wants to help give back to those that can use a hand. Here are a couple of options for how you can help:
(1) Metro Caring distributes approximately 2 million pounds of nutritious food to hungry families and individuals while also providing education and tools to help them improve their health and self-sufficiency. Volunteer shifts are daily between 9:00 AM and 4 PM, and Tuesday evenings 5:30 – 8:30 PM. If you would like to volunteer contact, Megan Maes (mmaes@metrocaring.org) and tell her that Uptown on the Hill sent you.
(2)Judi’s House is the only free-standing organization in the Metro Denver area devoted solely to supporting grieving children and their families. They have been doing this since 2002 and there are many different ways for you to help. If you would like to volunteer on your own, contact Jason Stutzman (jasonS@judishouse.org) at Judi’s House. If you would like to be part of a small team of 4-6 Uptown neighbors preparing dinner for the young kids and families, contact Frank Locantore with your interest and/or questions.
